Wassily Kandinsky

Kandinsky was Russian. He used full abstraction in his art and established the prominent Munich group, Der Blaue Reiter. Kandinsky started painting entirely abstract after a series of successful avant-garde shows. His shapes changed over time, moving from fluid and organic to geometric and then to pictorial.
